Custom SaaS Platforms

Multi-tenant products with subscriptions, onboarding, tenant isolation and an AI layer where it earns its place.

What this is

We have built and sold commercial multi-tenant platforms ourselves, so this is built around what actually causes trouble later: tenant isolation, subscription state, onboarding, per-tenant configuration and cost attribution — rather than only the first screen a demo shows.

The problem

What this solves

If more than one of these is familiar, there is usually a case worth scoping.

  • A single-tenant application needs to serve many customers.
  • Subscription, trial and dunning state is managed manually.
  • Onboarding a new customer takes developer time every time.
  • There is no proof that one tenant cannot see another tenant data.
How it works

The shape of the build

Indicative. The final design follows your systems, data and constraints.

  1. Architect tenancy

Isolation model chosen deliberately and enforced at the data layer.

  2. Build the core

The product capability, with per-tenant configuration rather than forks.

  3. Add commercials

Subscription, plans, trials, metering and billing integration.

  4. Self-serve onboarding

A new tenant provisioned without developer involvement.

  5. Operate it

Per-tenant monitoring, quotas, cost attribution and support tooling.

Scope

What is included

Deliverables you receive, in your own infrastructure and repositories.

  • Multi-tenant architecture with isolation enforced and tested
  • Subscription, plan and trial management with billing integration
  • Self-service onboarding and tenant provisioning
  • Role-based access control and per-tenant configuration
  • Admin tooling for support and operations
  • Per-tenant monitoring, quotas and cost attribution
  • AI capability where it earns its place in the product
Outcomes

What changes once it is live

Operational changes you should expect. We measure the specific numbers for your business rather than quoting generic figures.

  • New customers onboarded without engineering involvement
  • Tenant isolation verified by test rather than asserted
  • Subscription state handled by the system rather than by hand
  • Per-tenant cost and usage visible before it becomes a problem

Products that already cover this ground

Where one of our commercial platforms fits your model, starting there is faster and cheaper than a bespoke build. We assess fit honestly first.

Delivery

How we run the engagement

Our approach

Discovery

Process walkthroughs, data review, constraints and a written scope you sign off before build.

Architecture

Data model, integration boundaries, hosting and the security model, agreed up front.

Proof of concept

A narrow build on your real data against an agreed quality bar, so the go-ahead is evidence-based.

Development

Two-week increments, each ending in a working deployment and a review.

Testing

Automated coverage on critical paths, evaluation sets for AI behaviour, acceptance testing with your users.

Deployment

Staged rollout into your infrastructure with monitoring and a tested rollback path.

Monitoring & support

Quality, cost and latency tracking after launch, with handover documentation or an ongoing retainer.

Questions

Custom SaaS Platforms — FAQs

Shared database or database per tenant?

Shared with enforced row-level scoping suits most products and is cheaper to operate. Database per tenant is justified by regulatory isolation or very large tenants. We decide with you up front, because retrofitting is expensive.

Can you convert our existing single-tenant app?

Often, yes, in stages. We assess the data model and access paths first, since that determines whether conversion or a rebuild is sounder.

Do we own it?

Yes. Code, infrastructure definitions and documentation are yours throughout.

Have an AI or software
challenge to solve?

Let's evaluate your requirements and design a practical, secure and scalable solution for your business. We will tell you honestly whether AI is the right tool, and outline what a first build looks like.
